David Moyes shown the exit door by Manchester United
After Sir Alex Ferguson retired as manager of Manchester United, he chose David Moyes as his successor. Everyone was aware of the tough task in Moyes' plate, managing one of the biggest clubs in the world. There were expectations from the club and the former manager that the club would hold itself as one of the best clubs in the world under David Moyes as well.

But, things turned out different. Moyes failed as Manchester United's boss with the club lying in seventh position, which is one of their worst so far. Though, there are few games left to play, David Moyes has been sacked as manager of Manchester United and Giggs will take over the reigns till the end of the season.

For a club like Manchester United, their performance was below par – 11 losses in the EPL from the 34 games played so far. Prior to 1992, United had never finished outside the top three, granting them a place in Champions League, which they are going to miss next season.

Such has been the performance of the club, especially in the EPL, where they have lost poorly against some top teams. There were matches where they were thrashed in their own backyard. But, it was their defeat against lower rung teams, which angered Manchester United fans and faithful as well.

It was with the same crop of players that Alex Ferguson won the title last season, but the same players have just looked a shadow of themselves under David Moyes, which shows the managerial skill of Alex Ferguson, one of the best managers the world has ever seen.

Come next season, United is going to have a new manager. This time around, they are going to be extra careful, for they would want the new manager to bring laurels, respect and trophies back to the club. Louis Van Gaal is one of the front-runners for the coveted job, while other managers, who could still be in the fray are Jurgen Klopp, Laurent Blanc etc. There is an outside chance for Giggs as well, as he knows the current bunch of players at the back of his hand.
