ISL - Indian Super League
Day 3 of the Indian Super League: FC Pune City vs Mumbai City FC
Today on match day 3 of the Indian Super League at Pune, the home side will take on Mumbai City FC at the Shree Chhatrapati Shivaji Sports Complex. After a poor and lack luster first season, both sides have injected fresh talent into their teams through the ISL auction, earlier this year.

But, sadly many key players from both the teams including Jackichand Singh, Sunil Chhettri and Eugenson Lyngdoh and four other national level players will be missing today's game, as they are on international duty and will be playing the 2018 World Cup qualifying round game against Turkmenistan at Ashgabat on October 8. But, even in the absence of these big names, Mumbai and Pune have no shortage of talent.

Pune have made a huge investments in roping in former Chelsea and Juventus player Adrian Mutu, along with other international star players like Kalu Uche, Didier Zokora, Roger Johnson, Diego Colotto, Tuncay Sanli and Nicky Shorey, and not to forget FPAI player of the year, Lyngdoh.

"Mumbai FC turned up as the most disappointing side in the first edition, a trend which they would be looking to reverse this year. They have retained most of their last year's foreign players including Nicolas Anelka, who takes upo the responsibility of the side. Other retained players are Centre-back Pavel Cmovs and Andre Moritz.

The main strength of Mumbai lies in attack. Frederic Piquione also joins in along with Sony Norde, one of I-League's best player of last season with Mohun Bagan. Mumbai's most expensive acquisition in this year's auction was Indian Captain Sunil Chhetri, for which franchisee paid INR 1.2 crore.

The match starts at 7 pm IST today at Pune.
