Terrible scene on the crab show. Phil had been my favorite from day-1. I could identify with him more then any of the cast. Like him I have 4 level spinal fussion, and a Pulmonary Embolism that just about killed me. It killed me after he had his embolism to watch him continue to smoke. Smoking is a big factor for causing embolisms, and I quit after I had mine. Hearing of his death and this watching this episode breaks my heart. I thought Jake pushed his buttons to much after his first attack, now we no why. I feel bad for the boy and their must be some feeling of resposibility in his heart for what happened, because stress is not good for a guy in Phils condition. I hope he doesn't tear himself up over this. Phil could have stopped smoking and chose to continue, very dangerous after such a horrible attack,, (embolism). Alot of people don't even know that over 60% of the people that suffer a emboli, die from it. I have problems with my kids and if i ever died from something, i would never want thenm to feel or take responsibilty for it. We put our bodies in danger, and some of us continue to do so, over and over again. I don't care how upset i was with my kids, i would never want this out or them to take on such blame. Maybe Jake doesn't anyway. Maybe he and his dad settled their problems.
My own son is a recovered addict. I want Jake to know there is hope. Go to meetings and get the strength and hope other addicts can give him. His father obviously loved him dearly and Jake should not feel any guilt for his father's death. God Bless and stay strong!!
