Deaf and dumb girl raped near Berhampur

A deaf and dumb girl had been raped near Berhampur city in Orissa on Jan 20 evening. 55 year old man had been arrested in this connection.

IN A shocking incident, a 22 year-old deaf and dumb girl was allegedly raped at Patharagani village near Berhampur city in Orissa. A 55 year-old man has been arrested and produced in court in connection with the crime.

According to sources, a 55-year old man named Bhaskar Pradhan had lured the girl (deaf and dumb) with only a two rupee note and took her to a under construction house in the village on Thursday ( Jan 20) evening. There, Bhaskar allegedly raped the girl inside the under construction house in the village.

However, few women of the Patharagani village near Ankushpur located on the outskirts of city came to know about the shocking incident of rape of deaf and dumb girl and informed the father of the girl.

Father of the girl then lodged an FIR at the police station. Acting on the complaint of father of the deaf and dumb girl, Mahila Police arrested the accused Bhaskar.

After the medical examinations, Bhaskar was produced in the court on Friday.
