Delhi bus rape victim 'Amanat' no more: Pall of gloom descends on India
'Amanat', a young girl brimming with dreams and enthusiasm, is no more with us, her only fault, she was a girl. Her horrific story sparked a massive protest across the nation - and NGOs, women activists, and eminent citizens gathered to demand justice for Amanat and hundreds of girls like her. Hope her sacrifice will not go in vain. Stringent laws should come in force for the dignity and safety of women in India.

THE 23-year-old victim of barbaric Delhi Bus gang rape occurred on December 16 is no more; she succumbed to grave injuries inflicted by morons. The victim lost her battle with life at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore at 0215 am (IST). 'Amanat', as people call her, was shifted from Safdarjung Hospital, Delhi to Mount Elizabeth Hospital, a multi-specialty hospital renowned for multiple organ transplant.

According to reports emanating from Singapore, Amanat had grave injuries inflicted by morons, she was psychologically very brave, strong communicated with doctors, family members, investigating agencies, was battling against all odds to survive. Doctors were hoping for a miracle to happen and hoping against hope.

The severe wounds inflicted by some morons had severally damaged her vital organs, intestine, stomach, lungs and other body parts. She underwent over 5 life saving surgeries, and she was on maximum artificial ventilator support. The nature of injuries she was inflicted with were very serious, even after rendering the best medical services, doctors couldn’t save her. A pall of gloom has descended over India…social media, Twitter, Facebook, news channels, newspapers, and digital media all are abuzz with the tragic demise of Amanat.

The monstrous act had provoked massive protests, outrage across the length and breadth of the nation. People are hitting roads in her support demanding stringent laws for sinners and to curb the menace of rape.

For the first time in independent India’s history, youths have come out in open for a cause in  such a massive manner demanding stringent laws to curb the cases of rape, gender discrimination.

The Honorable Prime Minister, Ms Sonia Gandhi, Ms. Sushma, Ms. Shiela Dixit, Mr. Mulayam, Ms. Jayalalitha, Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy, and host of other politicos and officers should make a commitment that there should be no more lip service, tall speeches, and sympathy for the victims of heinous crime. Please execute stringent laws.

May God rest her soul in peace, render strength to her family members to overcome this tumultuous time. It's high time, government responds to the sentiments of people by promulgating stringent laws to curb the menace of rape and save hundreds of Amanat from the clutches of morons. No more rape.

There is no point in talking peacefully. We had enough. No body will pass any law as these criminals are part of the political system. No body will hit dagger in their own leg. There will be a resolution by congress countered by Mulaym and BJP asking for some amendment. So it will be postponed for next session and will go on and on. We have seen many bills specially womens reservation bill. So time has come to take the law in our hand. Punish the criminal in one go. No lawyer is needed. Khayap panchayat is enough. Kill these criminal in arabian method. Kill them by society and not by law.

Very Sad Day ! May God give strength to the family to bear the loss. May her soul rest in peace. Now will her sacrifice awaken the investigating and justice delivering agencies to give severest punishment to culprits quickly. It is shameful that even girls of 3 yrs., 5 or 10 yrs. old are made victims of this henious crime in our society. We must change our mindset at family level as well.
