Delhi Daredevils vs Deccan Chargers important encounter tonight
Delhi Daredevils and Deccan Chargers have six points each from nine games, but due to better run rate, Deccan remains ahead of Delhi in the on-going IPL 2011 tournament.
IN A must-win encounter in the 46th match of the Indian Premier League 2011, Deccan Chargers and Delhi Daredevils will take on each other on Thursday, May 5 at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
Indian Premier League 2009 champion and IPL 2010 semi finalist Deccan Chargers has lost six games so far in the current season of the IPL and won against Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kochi Tuskers Kerala and one against Delhi.
In the 19th match of the IPL 4 at Feroz Shah Kotla stadium in Delhi, Deccan Chargers has won against Delhi Daredevils by 16 runs. After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Chargers set the target of 169 runs for Daredevils with the help of 62 runs by Sunny Sohal and Kumar Sangakkara's 49 runs.
In reply, Virender Sehwag-led Delhi Daredevils team sort the Deccan Chargers' score by 16 runs. However, David Warner scored 51 runs for his team.
In the on-going IPL 2011, batting is the main worry for the teams. Except captains from both sides, Kumar Sangakkara and Virender Sehwag, no other batsmen are performing consistently. However, three Delhi batsmen including Sehwag, Warner and Venugopal Rao have scored more than 250 runs in the IPL 4, and only one from Deccan. Virender Sehwag with 303 runs is the third leading scorers in the IPL 4.
In bowling, one of the Delhi bowlers Morne Morkel and two of the Chargers bowlers Dale Styen and Amit Mishra have taken 10 or more wickets. In the match against Kings XI Punjab, Virender Sehwag and David Warner's 146-run stand turned out to be the highest opening stand of this IPL.
