Disposing off e-waste in a proper way has become the need of the hour and New Delhi Municipal Council has decided to place bins and build e-waste collection centers across the city for collecting e-waste.
DELHI PRODUCES hundreds of tonnes of electronic waste per year and has no sound infrastructure for its effective management. But now this is perhaps going to change as the city has has decided to go green and will become more eco- friendly.

According to the reports, there will be bins for e-waste across the city. So if you do not know what to do with your old unused walkmans, computers, laptops and other electronic gadgets then dump it in the e-waste bins or sell it off to a scrap dealer, soon it will be disposed off in an eco- friendly manner.

It is important to note that electronic waste is highly toxic in nature and requires appropriate technology for its sound management. Now you can dump the unutilized e-waste without harming the environment.

Disposing off e-waste in a proper way has become the need of the hour and New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has decided to place bins and build e-waste collection centers across the city for collecting e-waste. Even students of various universities and schools across the country have also placed bins in their schools and college premises for throwing e-waste.

They even bring e-waste from their respective houses and later sell it off to recycling companies that reprocess it in eco friendly way. This is a pioneering effort that has been made by the government and students for making the city eco friendly and a great place to live in.

The environment and forests ministry and the Central Pollution Control Board have also given approval for placing bins across the city and has tied up with several recycling companies all over the country. The NDMC will soon start identifying places for setting up collection centers where people will be able to leave electronic items for recycling.

There is no doubt in saying that people, especially youngsters, have become tech savvy and that they cannot do without cell phones, I-pods, computers, laptops, and other electronic gizmos and gadgets and they keep on changing their devices every few months. So placing bins all over the city and especially in schools, universities and colleges for collecting E-waste will prove extremely worthy and beneficial.
