Delhi-Gurgaon highway SOS booths non-functional and needs help!
Commuters, who take the National Highway No. 8 each day to reach their offices or for other reasons see the SOS booths everyday, without realizing their importance.

A regular commuter Divyani (name changed) said, “I have seen these yellow booths with SOS printed on them but I have no details about them.” Apparently, there are 26 such booths but very few functional.

Kept for emergencies, these booths are not only necessary but must work for commuters. These SOS booths can be used to make calls to emergency booths located on the highway but since they don't work most of the time, commuters face the tune of it.

Located on the 27.7 Km long stretch of Highway, these booths hardly take any calls unlike the claims of the Delhi-Gurgaon Connectivity Limited (DGSCL) toll operator. As reported by Hindustan Times, in case of any emergency people use their own mobile phones rather relying on these SOS booths. DGSL has also alleged that some local people vandalize these booths and take away expensive batteries and telephone instruments.

Looks the traffic police doesn't rely much on the SOS facilities of the toll operator and that's why it has deployed its own traffic personnel at various entry and exit points of this highway, who ensure that emergency situations are taken care of in time.
