Delhi Half marathon on November 27
The world's most prestigious Half Marathon race, Airtel Delhi Half Marathon will be flagged off in Delhi on November 27.
THERE'S GOOD news for Delhi's sports lovers, the fourth Airtel Delhi Half Marathon will be flagged off in the capital on Sunday, November 27. This year the world's richest half marathon is dedicated to ‘Friends’. The Delhi Half marathon will cover the distance of about 21 kilometers. It will also have veteran, senior veteran and super veteran categories for men and women.
Registration for the world's most prestigious Half Marathon race, recognised by IAAF as a "Gold Label Event" and certified by the Association of International Marathons and Road Races, Delhi Half marathon will start from August 25th and will till up to October 22nd. Prize money for this year's marathon is of USD 210,000.
Earlier on August 23 in New Delhi, Bharti Airtel CEO-India & South Asia, Sanjay Kapoor declared the registration for the event open at a press conference and said that they salute the spirit of forging ahead in the long race and are delighted to be associated with the Delhi Half Marathon for the 4th consecutive year. Delhi CM Sheila Dixit, officials from AFI and the 'Face of the Event' of the Delhi Half marathon, Bipasha Basu were also present at the press conference.
This year it is expected that around 30000 people will likely to participate in the event. It is also expected that 40 of the world's top 100 male and female long distance athletes will take part in the half marathon on November 27. Beside them a number of renowned faces from Bollywood, sports, business and society will take part in the event.
