Delhi Metro Heritage Line: DMRC should run half of the metro trains from Lal Quila station
The 5.17 km-long Delhi Metro's Heritage Line is likely to become one of the most popular and congested one with Kashmere Gate station becoming the biggest inter-change point. The station will connect three lines: Violet Line (Escort Mujesar-ITO), Red Line (Dilshad Garden-Rithala) and Yellow Line (Huda City Centre-Samaypur Badli).

The Heritage Line will have four stations: ITO (operational), Delhi Gate, Jama Masjid, Lal Quila and Kashmere Gate.

Metro trains originating from Kashmere Gate are likely to be full to over capacity with passengers from following metro stations hardly finding any space in the over crowded trains.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) should run half of the metro trains from Kashmere Gate, and half of the trains from Lal Quila station with half of the trains coming from Faridabad side being terminated at the Lal Quila station.

Trial runs of metro trains are presently being conducted between ITO and Kashmere Gate. The DMRC should arrange proper modifications in rail-lines so that trains may also originate from the Lal Quila station.
