Delhi Police arrests man for sending lewd messages to over 1500 women
A man has been arrested by the Delhi Police for harassing more than 1,500 women and sending them pornographic content, including videos and indecent pictures, almost every night.
Reportedly, the 31-year-old accused, Mohammad Khalid used to call randomly on numbers and if receiver was a woman, he used to save her number.

Arrested from a mobile shop in Sadar Bazar, Khalid disclosed that after saving the numbers he used to look for those women on WhatsApp. On finding the profile picture attractive, he used to send SMS or WhatsApp messages to that particular number.

Three prepaid SIM cards were seized from him; all were registered under fake names. "The man had been tormenting innocent women … His arrest will be big relief to them. While some came forward to register a complaint, many of them just kept quiet, which encouraged him to target more women", Vijay Singh, DCP (Northwest), reportedly said.

The hunt for him was initiated by the police following a complaint of harassment by a woman. The victim revealed that the accused threatened to kill her, when she told him that she would file a police complaint.

According to the police, Khalid is suffering from depression following repeated rejections from women due to his short height (4 feet 10 inches). With contacts of more than 2000 women from Delhi and NCR region, he had 60GB of porn content in his mobile phones.

The police said that the accused was from a dysfunctional family and would be sent for counseling. A case has also been registered against Khalid at Ashok Vihar police station under sections 354A, 506, 354D, 509, 420, 468, 471 of the Indian Penal Code.
