Delhi University admissions 2016: Your online guide on how to go about it!
The Delhi University for the first time has made admissions for all under graduate courses online from this year, and on Wednesday, the first day of admissions, 39,000 applications were received for over 60,000 seats in various courses.


For those students who have yet not applied, here are things that you should know:

  • Download the Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) forms from Delhi University's website: www.du.ac.in

  • Use net banking to make online payment.

  • After the cut-off list is declared, log into your account and check whether you have made it to the cut-off list or not.

  • After selecting the desired subjects, take a print out of the admission form.

  • Approach your college with the admission form and all original documents along with their photocopies.

  • The college will give an acknowledgement to the candidate.

  • Make the payment online and enter your acknowledgement number.

  • Application fee for General category is Rs 100, for SC/ST Rs 50 and for Sports/ECA category it is Rs 100.

How to register for DU under graduate courses 2016?

  • Visit the official website.

  • Go to the bottom-right corner of the home page.

  • Enter your details like name, email address, mobile number and create a password. After registration is complete, verify your email from the received confirmation link received in your email. Click to confirm the registration.

  • Log on to UG admission website and fill the registration form by clicking "Apply Now".

  • Be careful to fill all eight sections of the registration form and click on save. In case you need to make any corrections, click on edit.

  • Attach these self-attested documents in the upload section: self-attested passport size photo, scanned signature, Class X Board certificate, photocopy of Class XII mark sheet, copy of reserved category certificate and copy of sports and extra curricular activities certificate.

  • Make online payment.

The university has reserved 5 per cent seats for Kashmiri migrants and students applying as children of war widows would be admitted through counselling.

Important dates:

June 19: The last day for accepting online applications.

June 27: Declaration of the first cut-off list.

July 1: Declaration of the second cut-off list.

July 7: Third cut-off list.

July 12: Fourth cut-off list.

July 16: Fifth cut-off list.

July 20: Beginning of classes.

August 16: Closure of admissions.
