Denmark Open: Rio silver medallist Sindhu enters second round
Rio Olympics silver-medallist PV Sindhu got off to a good start in Denmark Open Super Series Premier badminton tournament after she registered an easy win over China's He Bingjiao in the women's singles competition.

This is Sindhu's first event after Rio Olympics. She defeated Bingjiao 21-14, 21-19 in the clash that lasted 37 minutes. This was the fourth meeting between Sindhu and Bingjiao. Both of them have won two matches against each other.

In the second round, Sindhu will face World No. 12 Sayaka Sato of Japan.

Sindhu had reached the finals of the Denmark Open in the last edition. Other Indian players at Denmark Open include Ajay Jayaram, H S Prannoy and B Sai Praneeth in Men's single.

While Jayaram and Prannoy advanced to the second round, but Praneeth lost narrowly to Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk of Thailand.

In men's doubles, Rio Olympians Manu Attri and B Sumeeth Reddy were defeated by Denmark's Kim Aastrup and Anders Skaarup Rasmussen.
