DENSE FOG gripped national capital Delhi and surrounding areas in the National Capital Region affecting the rail and air traffic on Thursday, January 21. The movement of vehicles on the roads was also slowed by the near Zero visibility in the early hours of morning.
Air and train services were badly affected due to fog and commuters were left stranded on airports and railway stations all across NCR. In fact, entire north India is suffering from the onslaught of the cold wave and the resultant fog, which has brought life to a stand still in this part of the country.
Meteorological Department said that the fog will stay till the afternoon, which could mean more delays for aircrafts and trains. Movement of at least 45 flights and 70 trains were affected by the foggy conditions, which have prevailed in the region for the past few days.
Northern Railways also canceled and rescheduled a number of trains because of poor weather condition.
