Destination Tallinn: Castle, cyber and heritage capital city of Estonia

Tallinn Passenger Port, where Nawal landed at is one of the busiest cruise destinations on the Baltic Sea with a large number of cruise ships.

Tallinn is the capital, city of which is also known as the castle town. It is located in the northern part of the country, on the shore of the Gulf of Finland of the Baltic Sea. It is one of major financial, industrial, cultural, educational and research centre in that region. Nawal posted the photos of the cruise he travelled by and the castle in the city.

Tallinn's old town area is one of the best preserved medieval settlement  which has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and hence a major tourist attraction. Every year several millions visitors make it to Tallinn.

The city has modern structures too owing to a large number of startups  and high tech companies, including Skype and Transfer-wise. It has been listed among the top ten digital cities in the world.

If one has enough time then the Tallinn Card is a time-limited ticket  is the best option to tour around  by availing public transport and entry  fee to many museums and other places of interest are included in the ticket.

Estonian Art Museum in Kadriorg Palace has  country's largest collection of contemporary and modern art.  The Museum of Applied Art and Design has several thousand displays of textile art, ceramics, porcelain, leather, glass, jewellery, metalwork, furniture and product design.

The Elron railway company operates train services from Tallinn. Buses are also available to all these and various other destinations in Estonia, as well as to Saint Petersburg in Russia and Riga, Latvia. The Russian railways company operates a daily international sleeper train service between Tallinn ? Moscow.
