Dhamma walk organised by Tourism Department of Bihar in Bodhgaya on Saturday
Bodh Gaya: Hundreds of monks, nuns and devotees including Shri Kumar Ravi, the District Megistrate of Gaya, took part in the Dhamma walk which was organised by the Tourism Department of Bihar on Saturday.
Seniors monks like Ven. K Medhankara Thero, the Joint Secretary of the Maha Bodhi Society of India and Bhikku-In-Charge of Buddha Gaya Centre and Ven. Chalinda Bhikku, the Chief priest of BTMC also took part with great devotion and enthuism in this joyful event.
The Dhamma walk started from Durgeswari (where the Buddha meditated for 6 years) to Maha Bodhi Temple (where the lord Buddha attained Enlightenment), Bodhgaya.

The procession was started at 07:30 morning from Bodhgaya. After performing prayers at Durgeswari cave, participants again commenced the procession back to Bodhgaya on foot. Before arriving at the Maha Bodhi Temple they all seemed to have been exhausted walking at least 25 kms.
The Dhamma walk was organised as part of the upcoming Buddha Mahotsav which to be beigins from January 17th and continue till 19th at Kalchakra ground in Bodh gaya.
