The number of people who participated in the survey is expected to be around 1 lakh. Most of them seem to have chosen Dhaula Kuan to be unsafe, as the number of rape cases , thefts have been taking place regularly around this area.

As there are a large number of students who come from all over the country and those who study in the South Campus area always prefer to reside in the Moti bagh area, which is near the Gurudwara. The place is also known as a melting pot for many North eastern students and call centre employees.

One resident, who stayed for around four years near the area, Sarovar Ghissingh says, “There is always a fear in this area, as there are so many people who work as call centre employees who return home back late night, where unfortunate accidents take place”. One has to remember that things like theft not only occur during the night, but also during the broad daylight, which is a greater concern.

There are various kinds of unfortunate accidents that have taken place in the region in the recent past such as theft cases, rape cases, etc which has brought the area in the news for the negative reasons. Ghissingh also adds that the security in the region has increased due to these bad incidents, but still these incidents take place.

It is better for the residents to take care of themselves by carrying defensive things such as pepper spray, pen knife etc, if they are attacked by anyone.
