Diet tips on weaning foods
Weaning foods are the foods that are introduced to infants after 6 months of age. The mothers who are lactating, should introduce some foods other than their milk after 6 months for the further growth and all round development of their baby.

AN INFANTS digestive system and whole body is very sensitive, they can't digest easily. Till six months of age the mother's milk takes care of the calorie demands of the baby, but after six months the calorie demand and major nutrient demand goes up and this cannot be compensated with mother's milk. Here are some of the foods that can be introduced to infants after six months of age.

The weaning foods should be started in a liquid form and gradually you can make it a semi-solid and then solid. Every single food should be introduced to the baby at this time, as the likes and dislikes of the baby are decided at this stage. If you don't introduce any kind of food to your baby then later on, they will not like that particular food product. Initially, they may not like the food and reject it through vomiting or diarrhea. But after a week or more that food product should be introduced again to the baby.

You can start with mashed potatoes, rice and pulses. You can also give them the extract of pulses or vegetables. The egg whites and pieces of boiled chicken can be introduced in the seventh or eighth month, to fulfills the protein demands of the baby. Try to avoid sugary products. The baby must be feeded every two to three hours and this should include breast feeding also.

Any new product that is introduced to the baby should be tested whether it suits the baby or not by giving a spoonful or half a spoon to the baby and if they don't reject, then it can be continued. If the baby is showing any severe signs of diarrhea then you should stop the food and immediately consult your physician and then continue with it, reported Indiainteracts.
