Dil Dhadakne Do Review: The audience got what was promised to them by Zoya Akhtar!
Zoya Akhtar is known for multi-starrer, big budget and outdoor location films and she has pulled it off again with Dil Dhadakne Do. The film, which stars Anil Kapoor, Shefali Chaya, Priyanka Chopra, Ranveer Singh, Farhan Akhtar and Anushka Sharma looked ambitious but she was able to pull it off. Audience, who love those soul searching while traveling films, would absolutely adore this movie.

The characters, as are evident from the trailers, are all on a ship and gets exploring their personal relationships, which otherwise due to schedules, social networking or simply life do not happen. Since the cruise forces everyone together in a confined space, the angst in relationships comes out and so does the love.

Many is saying that it is a elitist film and to them one question- what is wrong in that? Money doesn't solve everything and all moneyed people are not shallow, pretentious, which is proved by this film again and again.

This film is being compared a lot by Zoya Akhtar's Zindagi Na Milegi Doobara, which I agree was a better film, but this is not bad. As a director the audience got what was promised to them by the director- entertainment, good looking people, relationships laid bare and some questions, which if the audience allows themselves, even they would ask sometimes in their life.

Ranveer Singh and Anil Kapoor with their vivacious energies stand out, but Shefali Shah is the one who stole the show as the matriarch in the film. The Punjabi mom, a shrewd socialite and a wife was played by her beautifully. She appears both beautiful and real. Priyanka Chopra and Anushka Sharma were also good for the roles written for them.

The audience is happy with the film as the film has made good money in its first week. Inspite of reviews being mixed, the film did a good 10 crore on the opening day. Having been released on June 5, till now the film has had a strong money flow coming in. If we take trade analyst Taran Adarsh's words then Dil Dhadakne Do collected 12.27 cr on Saturday followed by 14.25 cr on Sunday.
