Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu leave for Mecca pilgrimage
Bollywood thespian Dilip Kumar is leaving to perform Umrah in Mecca in Saudi Arabia. The 90-year-old yesteryear actor, who is not doing well for some time, has thanked the almighty for giving him an opportunity to visit the holy place.
DILIP SAAB, as he is popularly called by his fans, posted on
Twitter about his pilgrimage. He said, “Allah has been kind that he's given me the strength to go on Umrah (Pilgrimage) with Saira, Asif and Faisal.” He would also be accompanied with his doctors as well as his family, friends and relatives.
The actor turned 90 on December 11 2012, and it was reported that
Saira Banu had planned a big surprise bash for him on the special day but it was canceled due to the loss of
Yash Chopra, his close friend.
Umrah is a small mecca in Saudi Arabia and the pilgrimage is undertaken by a person following the Islamic faith at any point in time. In Arabic, Umrah it means, 'to visit a populated place.' As was reported by nnis, Dilip Kumar and his family would start on Wednesday and stay in Saudi Arabia for 10-15 days.
