MAHARASHTRA CHIEF minister Vilasrao Deshmukh might have survived the Mumbai terror attack but his attempt at disaster tourism at the violence affected Taj has certainly led to his exit. What has caused mass anger and public outcry is the fact that Maharashtra chief minister went to terror struck Taj hotel with noted film director, Ram Gopal Verma and his film actor son Ritesh Deshmukh as if he was moving through a film set.

Although Verma has said that he had no intention to make a film on the issue but the controversy, it seems has claimed the chief ministerial chair.

Infact, reports coming from Mumbai said that Deshmukh has offered to resign from the top post alongwith his deputy chief minister RR Patil, who also came under fire for making a nonchalant remark. Although it is understood that the Congress high command is likely to accept the resignation of the chief minister but he has been asked to continue till a replacement is decided upon.

People in the entire country, particularly in Mumbai were aghast at the manner, in which the Maharashtra chief minister had conducted himself over the last few day. His tour of Taj hotel with Verma and his son, in toe, have left the people cringing in anger and as a result the people are baying for his ouster from the top job.

In fact, Deshmukh has been accused of going on a terror picnic to Taj along with his son and the Bollywood director. Although, Verma maintained that he had no plans to make a movie on the subject but his claims notwithstanding, it is certain that this trip is likely to unseat Deshmukh.

Angry Mumbai people alleged that the chief minister was unconcerned about the plight of the people and the manner, in which he conducted himself amounted to insensitivity of the highest order.

Meanwhile, Deshmukh claimed that it was just a coincidence that Ram Gopal Verma was present at the Taj, adding, “The whole issue is being blown out of proportion.”

Opposition Bharatiya Janata Party was quick to seize the initiative and alleged that it was likely that the director wants to make a movie on the subject and wanted the chief minister’s son to act in it. The party said that the state chief minister should take lead from the Union home minister and resign from the job.

Today I witnessed a rather pitiful sight, a sight that has angered many and hurt the sentiments of many more. I witnessed the "great director, Ram Gopal Verma" walk into the Taj. Is this some sort of a joke for him? Who is he to even walk into the Taj. Doesn't he feel ashamed? Any human being, in his or her common senses, would have never done such a thing! He is giving a wrong message! These events are REAL LIFE, not something you can put into a split reel and earn crores!!! People have lost their lives, their family members, their loved ones. It hasn't even been a week since the trauma has got over! And, RGV, an evident opportunist, has already entered the Taj, set to take another film, now on the Mumbai Terror Attacks! What sort of a being is he? What right does he have to even step into the Taj? Firstly, do something for the country, other than sitting in one place pondering of different ways of earning money. This has been one of the most egocentric and inhumane acts I have ever witnessed. I used to only think his movies were senseless and utterly disgusting but now, I know the root cause of such movies. Sorry to say this, but I am utterly disgusted and ashamed of people like him...
