Aruna, the CPI (Maoist) leader told in an exclusive interview to one of the leading local daily that the Cobra battalion was established only to wipe out the Naxal movement and the movement of the tribals for their better living.
“THE PEACE committees and citizens’ protection committees are formed very recently in order to protect the multi national companies (MNCs) and to drive out the tribals from their birth places,” said Andhra-Orissa boarder committees Maoist commander Aruna. Aruna told in an exclusive interview to one of the leading local daily that the Cobra battalion was established only to wipe out the Naxal movement and the movement of the tribals for their better living. The Maoist commander also confirmed that these peace committees and citizens’ protection committees are nothing but government sponsored committees financed by Hindalco and Nalco. She warned to dissolve the committees immediately in order to avoid the consequences.
The Communist Party of India (Maoist) supports the Chasi Mulia Adivasi Sangha (CMAS) of Narayanpatna Block and opposes the Chasi Mulia Adivasi Sangha (CMAS) of Bandhugaon Block adjourning to Andhra Pradesh in Koraput district of Orissa state. In a clarification, she said that the CMAS of Narayanpatna Block working for the benefit of the tribals boycotted the elections but the CMAS of Bandhugaon Block participated in elections, joining hands with money lenders and land lords. However, there are minor mistakes in CMAS of Narayanpatna destroying the houses of the dalits who are living in a miserable condition. She wants the unity between tribals and dalits. The division between the two would benefit the third party (exploiters).
“The peace committees sponsored by the government are nothing but to grab the power to participate in the election and not for the tribals,” the CPI Maoist leader expressed. She also expressed that the formation of committees in Orissa are nothing but is equivalent to the Salwa Judum in Chatishgarh. We won’t allow both the peace committees in Orissa and Salwa Judum in Chatishgarh to continue their activities in future. Aruna also appealed to the people to prevent the entry of para-military forces in their villages.
