Disturbed by rape cases? Bikers to ride and create awareness in Gurgaon
Rape cases are becoming so common in Gurgaon that people in a way are not getting agitated enough and are not reacting with the same fervor to them anymore. Newspapers provide us with a rape case article almost everyday, but very few eyebrows gets raised these days. To try and change that and to make people take a very serious matter seriously, a bikers group, Blitzkrieg Gurgaon (BRCgurgaon) is organising a ride against these rape cases.

Passionate about two wheelers, on May 6 these people, who ride for fun, are planning to take a spin for the cause and educate, inform people about rape. Calling it a necessary step, Chaitanya Dhillon, the leader of this group says, ''the urban-rural part of Gurgaon is not in sync with each other. There is a wide gap and people from these two parts have very different mindset, which is one of the reasons why rape cases are reported almost everyday.'' He also pointed out that in Gurgaon richest of the rich and poorest of the poor exist, which widens the aforementioned gap.

''Although 34 people from Blitzkrieg Gurgaon are taking part in the event, but we invite everyone with two wheelers and cars to join us that day. We are expecting  a total of 100 people riding the roads of MG Road, Galleria and Ardee City on that day riding against rape, '' says Dhillon when asked as to which part of the city would they explore for the cause.

Agreeing to the fact that rural Gurgaon needs more education about the topic at hand, but pointing out the roadblocks Dhillon says, ''We would love to take our bikes to Old Gurgaon, but the roads there are bad and 100 bikes riding together- cruising at around 20kms-25 kms per hour is just not possible. The roads are bad and frankly not wide enough. Even the traffic is worse there if compared to New Gurgaon.''

With T-shirts and banners, posters and flags, these people also plan to visit Raahgiri on May 6, so that they are able to tell as many people as possible about their efforts. Although they have not talked to the police yet, but they would look forward to the police's support on the matter.
