IF YOUR latest diet plan haven' t reaped the desired results, you should not blame the diet, rather blame your genes. A new study has found out that people who follow a low carbohydrate weight loss plan tend to fare better in their overall weight loss or weight gain programs.
Our DNA controls the way our body burns excess flab. DNA also regulates the storing of calories. A recent study has also found that women, who conform to diets attuned to their genes, tend to lose more weight than the women who are on DNA mismatched diets.
However, not everyone has subscribed to the idea of DNA matched diets. The director of the National Center of Excellence for Nutritional Genomics Raymond Rodriguez said “I have serious reservations with this study and studies like it. The idea that genetic variants in these genes can predict the likelihood for weight loss in such a small population, particularly since the tendency for weight loss is probably more behavioral than genetic, is simply hard to believe."
