Do acts of kindness, make people smile; its World Smile Day
On Friday, across the globe, the World Smile Day was celebrated to remember and honour Harvey Ball - a commercial artist from Worcester, Massachusetts – who had created the Smiley Face in 1963.

The day is celebrated on the first Friday in the month of October every year since 1999. However, after Harvey died in 2001, the Harvey Ball World Smile Foundation was created to honor his name and memory.

The  Harvey Ball World Smile Foundation coordinates the event with the slogan 'improving this world, one smile at a time' with goal to 'make as many people as possible aware of World Smile Day by using the web, social media, and your help to encourage smiles and acts of kindness around the world.'

On the eve of the event, Rajasthan Patrika's Jaipur Edition published an article how the smiling at a stranger is treated in different countries.

In Worcester, the event is being held with a hot air balloon, sidewalk chalk activities, and the world's largest human smiley face.

According to event coordinators, individuals, schools, businesses, and organizations should make the world a better place by delivering meals, making videos, having fun and much more activities that make people smile.
