Actors of yesteryears considered acting an art and acted in movies because they were passionate about cinema. But now, Indian actors and actresses do films for money and celebrity life style.
YEARS BACK there were people, who felt acting was an art and acted in movies because they were passionate about cinema. They never gave up entertaining public even though they had to struggle and never bother about what they were paid. During those times entertaining public was called an Art and the artistes were honored with National awards, which they fully deserved.

What about now? Is acting still an Art? I don’t think so. In our country, actors now do films for money and celebrity life style. The actors/actresses are more concerned about how much they are paid and surprisingly there acting levels too have dropped to a low level. In present times, most of the movies are commercial; they show everything right from violence to vulgarity just for the sake of earning money. There are no moral values in the movies, but that’s logical because when money becomes the ultimate motive moral values are sure to vanish. Now the point is how far is it fair to award these actresses/actors with national awards. Knowing that they only do movies for filling their bank accounts, will it still be right to honor them. Apart from this, they already have there own glamorous and star studded award ceremonies every year. So, why does the government need to recognize these actors with prestigious nation awards? It should instead introduce a new category and honor well deserved people with these awards.
