Do visit CN Tower in Toronto, one of Seven Wonders of the Modern World
In Canada's capital city of Toronto, the CN (Canadian National) Tower stands tallest in the city as a 553.3 m-high concrete communications and observation tower with a revolving restaurant. I had enjoyed the sight in 2016 with my wife in 2015 during our visit to the relatives settled down there.

Designed by architect John Andrews, the tower was completed in 1976 as the world's tallest free-standing structure of the 20th century. However, it lost its first place with the construction Burj Khalifa and Canton Tower in the 21st century.

As the third tallest tower in the world, the CN Tower remains the tallest free-standing structure in the western hemisphere that attracts more than two million international visitors each year.

The building of the tower was necessitated with Toronto growing rapidly during middle of 20th century with multiple skyscrapers constructed in the downtown compromising the quality of broadcast signals requiring higher antennas and a hub-space for microwave links, visible from almost any building in the Toronto area.

My host informed that the tower has been designed with a single continuous hexagonal core to the SkyPod with three support legs. However, the structure has a large Y-shape structure at the ground level, he added while drawing my attention to blending of various structural shapes in the building constructed with precise vertical accuracy.

Heavy duty helicopter Olga was pressed into service that flew the antenna pieces up in 36 sections of the tower for instillation which also became the tourist attraction with daily news reports about the progress of work in antenna construction, I was told.

Now, inside and on the tower the main tourist attractions are the public observation deck, metal staircase with a glass view, 360 Restaurant, Main Pod, glass floor, Edge Walk. The glass floor and Edge Walks are main amusement in which thrill-seekers can walk on and around the roof of the main pod of the tower at 356 m which is directly above the 360 Restaurant.

People feel thrilled, so did I, to enjoy the world's highest full-circle hands-free walk. With a ticketed entry, the visitors are tethered to an overhead rail system and walk around the edge of the CN Tower's main pod. It seemed once-in-lifetime experience.
