Do You See Muslims as Terrorists?
Are we being rational enough in contemplating that people from one community are so strong that they can devastate the whole world - again and again? We need to re-look our assumptions.

INDIA HAS been traumatized time and again by numerous terror attacks on various occasions. Hence, several Anti-Terrorist Institutions and security organisations have been formed to fight terrorism at the international level. After every terror attack the witch hunt of Muslims starts, and in this exercise innocent Muslims also get tortured. It is quite acceptable that certain fringe elements among Muslims are actively planning and carrying out terror attacks, but we should not forget that such elements and groups are prevalent in other communities and religions as well.

This Muslim specific hunt, which has been going on since very long now has resulted in world-wide difference in the way how we look at Muslims. If we gather information and exclude all Muslim countries, we would see that there is almost negligible percentage of Muslims in power. How many Muslims have been given a powerful stake in the government agencies of Non-Muslim countries? If we see the current statistics, Mumbai and Ahmedabad assembly have only two Muslim members as compared to five in Delhi. When the majority of our leaders are Hindu then I want to ask a question "when Hindus are leading the world's largest democracy then why always put the blame on a community and generalize terror?"

There are, on an average, one massive bomb blast every year in Mumbai and if we go by our security agencies and say that insiders who help these Islamic extremist organizations are also Muslims then where are they? Are we sure that the internal mole is Muslim? And if we are not, then let us say its not Muslims only but other communities are involved as well.I don't want to say that Muslims are not terrorists (we know the top 10 world terrorists are Muslims) but I do want to voice my concern over injustice that happens when hunt for terror suspects start and its aftereffects. Everyone would agree with me that the moment there is a bomb blast or a live bomb found, our security agencies start hunting for probable suspects. And mind you they don't search for probable terrorists; they start their search with all the Muslims who are probable terrorists.

We should also consider this fact that a terror attack of an international level can't be committed without any internal mole. Every country has communist and religious extremist groups then why only the Muslim community is targeted as a terror suspect even before the actual culprit is found out? This exercise of our security agencies has and will continue to have severe after-affects on the social and secular face of our world. Local political parties and media have also played a big role in making this statement true that "Every Terrorist is a Muslim".

In order to gain votes and publicity political parties and media end up exaggerating the actual situation. We as educated and secular citizens should stop believing what is not true and constant as these political leaders and media have never cured the wounds and would never do anything to cure. These self and unjustified conclusions lead to tortures.

India is world's biggest secular country being home to almost all the religions of the world. Every religion has its goods and bads, such as in Hinduism we follow sacrifice, fear of God, dharm bheeruta (Fear of Religion), and kindness towards human being and even the creatures and animals. Muslims show a great level of family togetherness, social bondage, adherence to cultural bindings. Then why should not be these good qualities be mixed together to create a new concrete mixture to build a structure of humanity which nothing in the world could shake? We should not forget that it is always terrorists versus the World and not Muslims versus the world. Hence, we can say terror has No Religion and thus, we should stop generalizing terror.
