Do you want to get rid of bad breath?
Bad breath is an unpleasant condition, which causes embarrassment and can also cause anxiety. It is also called halitosis, where halitus means breath and osis often describes a medical condition. Bad breath is caused by build up of bacteria in your mouth, and this causes inflammation that produces gases that smell like sulfur or even worse.

CERTAIN FOODS and health conditions can be the cause of this medical condition. Foods such as garlic and onion in your meal can cause an objectionable breath odor. As the food is absorbed in the blood stream, it is transferred to the lung and from there it is expelled through the mouth. Since the mouth is less exposed to oxygen during the night and is inactive, the odor is usually worse in the morning.

The causes of bad breath can be dry mouth (xerostomia), and this occurs when the flow of saliva decreases. Saliva cleans the mouth and removes the particle that causes odor. Tobacco products also causes bad breath and stains the teeth. Persistent bad breath can be a warning sign of periodontal (gum) diseases, local infection in the respiratory tract, chronic sinusitis, and diabetes, etc. If you don't brush and floss daily then some food particles remain in your mouth, which collects bacteria that emit chemicals, which smell like rotten egg. The surface of the tongue is uneven when observed under microscope, these uneven surfaces can trap bacteria that can be a cause of bad breath.

The treatment of bad breath varies, depending upon the cause. First, you should go to a dentist for the treatment of bad odor, and if he determines that your mouth is healthy and the odor is not due to any oral problem, then you should refer to your family physician to know the cause of the odor or you can go to a periodontist, a specialist in treating gum tissues. Periodontal disease can cause accumulation of bacteria and plaque in the gum tissues, a professional periodontal cleaning can remove the bacteria by pulling away the gum tissues from the teeth and then from the pockets.

Other general measures for bad breath treatment can include mouthwashes and tooth pastes containing fluorides and adopting some simple habits like brushing twice a day and washing your mouth after a meal.
