Do's and dont's of a diet
Do you follow any kind of diet regime? If yes, then there are some basic do's and don'ts that you have to take care of. Stick to a calorie control diet; there are many weight loss fads and programmes but in truth, in order to lose weight you have to burn more calories than you take in.

But don't make the mistake of eating too little, as not eating enough leads to a sluggish metabolism. You need energy to exercise as well as perform normal everyday tasks. Depriving yourself of it will make you tired unhappy and moody. And nobody wants to feel like that.

Limit the animal fats you take in, as they are most concentrated, and red meat is the largest source of fat, so try to avoid it. Also the dairy product like cheese and milk should be consumed in a limited amount. Remember carbs are your friends so don't cut them out. They give your body the energy it needs to function and help to power your metabolism.

Don't eat cheese-drenched foods like pizza more than once or twice a month because cheese is a high fiber dairy fat. According to manufacturers, two slices of pizza use up to 40 percent of the saturated fat limit of the day.

Do eat 'plants only dinner' at least thrice a week. Eating more vegetables can reduce the risk of cancer and heart diseases. Do make all your snacks with fruits and vegetables.

Keep in mind that not all the fats are to be avoided. Polyunsaturated fats like those found in olive oil can stop making you feel hungry. Olive oil itself contains a naturally occurring chemical called olic acid, which aids the breakdown of excess fats in the body, reported indiainteracts.

Remember these basic rules in order to maintain a healthy diet.
