Double standards of our educated society
I don't agree with the opinion and thoughts expressed in the article 'Communal versus Secular Vices,' published on this website, as it indicates a distorted mentality where everything about Islam and Muslims is wrong.

In my several articles I have mentioned that people who are spreading hatred should be dealt strongly irrespective of their faith. In this particular article, the author is trying to show Sujata Patil as a patriot just because she spewed venom against Muslims. There is no doubt in my mind that her poem is against the Muslim community, and people who are trying to spread hatred should be sent to jail without hesitation. Here, the writer of that particular article is trying to prove herself as a true patriotic Indian.

I don’t understand the psyche of this author and most such people who are hell bent to support such people as patriots just because they spew venom against Muslims and Islam. Patil clearly mentioned in her poem that Muslims are just like snakes to whom other communities of the nation are providing food and shelter. She clearly supports the killing of Muslim in her poem, which is completely against the constitution of the country.

At the same time, I strongly condemn those wrong things that took place during peaceful protest of the muslim organization in Mumbai and no sane person in this world will allow such things to take place in a civilized society. But who is responsible for all that mayhem? All those who had wrecked “Amar Jyoti” should be brought to book and be punished for their crimes against the nation as fast as possible.

But due to crimes of a few selected criminals of the society nobody has the right to target a whole community on the basis of their prejudices. When muslim mobs do something wrong then it is a terrorist activity, and when it is done by the majority community then it is communal violence and not a terrorist activity. Why the difference between same types of crimes?

We have a history of such terrorist activities against the minority communities of this great nation too by a few zealots’ groups of the country but nobody is ready to accept the truth just because of the fact that these atrocities had been done by the people of the majority community.

Whatever had happened in Meerut, Bhagalpur, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Gujarat and more recently in Assam is nothing less than the terrorism. Still, there is thinking in a few selected groups that whatever happened in these unfortunate events was right. I had personal discussion with a lot of people and they said that whatever happened in these events was a reaction of certain actions by the Muslim community. I am not saying just on the basis of my perception. Even so-called educated people of the country are also having same sentiments just like author of 'Communal versus Secular Vices,' and Ms. Sujata Patil.

I think such fanatics from the majority community should understand that Muslims are going to remain in this country forever just like Hindus are living. And we also have the same love and affection for the country as they have. We are as patriotic as they are. Just a few fanatics from both the communities will not be able to divide the country. We are as much Indian as other people of this country. And for sure, we don't need the stamp of RSS, VHP and Bajrang Dal to prove our patriotism. We don't need to support any such activity which further divides the country in two different and opposite poles.

If you are really a true Indian, you must have the courage to oppose all the fanatics irrespective of their faith. People who are used to opposing the mentality of Muslim fanatics doesn’t have the courage to say a single thing about the same types of fanatics from the majority community. The people who used to oppose such things are termed by VHP and their partners as pseudo secular. I don’t understand this double standard of so-called educated people of this great nation.
