SONY HAS come up with a new reality show, Dance Premier League (DPL), which would be aired from this Friday, October 9 on every Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm. This unique format has teams which have been selected through all India auditions from all the zones our country.

These teams chosen from North, East, West, South, Central and one team of the NRI's, would compete on a platform in a league format to win the Champions trophy for their respective zones.
The dance format will bring India's rich and diverse culture from each region, providing an ideal platform to compete for the regional pride by displaying their own flavour and unique identity.

Each team will have its unique logo, brand ambassador, cheer leaders, slogans, branded merchandise like T-shirts, bandanas etc and will embody their zone's spirit in a competitive way to win the Champion Zone's title.

Eijaz Khan and Sara Khan would be playing the hosts of the Dance premier league. Rani Mukherjee, who hasn't signed any film after Dil Bole Hadippa, is believed to be the judge for the show, after Madhuri Dixit backed out at the last moment.

Madhuri had ditched the channel and the production house as she could not find a nanny to look after her kids. Even talks about having Katrina Kaif as the judge have made rounds but it appears that it would be very difficult to rope in Kaif for the show, as she has been keepig very busy with her shootings lately.

Salman Khan has picked up the North Zone team after the contestants were short-listed from Chandigarh, Delhi and Amritsar. He was joined by the hosts Eijaz and Sara along with Shaimak Davar and Arshad Warsi, who would be playing an important role in the show. Dance guru Shiamak Davar will play the taskmaster and set up the difficulty levels for the participants.

Also each team will be mentored by a celebrity choreographer and under their guidance the teams would strive to be champions from mere contenders. So watch out for Dance Premier League on every Fridays and Saturdays from 8pm on Sony Television.

May the best zone win.
