DR NUPUR TALWAR, wife of Dr Rajesh Talwar came out in defence of her husband, a day after he was arrested by the Noida Police in connection with the double murder case. She said that her husband is innocent and that didn’t killed their daughter, Aarushi Talwar and domestic help, Hemraj. She joined Dr Anita Durani and denied that her husband had any extra-marital affair with Dr Durani ,as one of the reason for the twin murder claimed by the police .

Lawyers for Rajesh filed a bail applications in a local court for his release, saying there was no evidence to link him with the crime and that he suffered from severe asthma.

“With all my conviction, I can say it (Rajesh killing Arushi) can’t be the way it has been suggested (by the police). He was a was doting father. It is doubly untrue,” Dr Nupur told the reporters.

“In fact, I used to feel that I had done something good in my past life to be a part of such a wonderful family. I have faith in the legal system and have faith in God,” she said.

Dr Anita Durani and husband, Dr Praful Durani came out in defense and told the media that the police’s allegations are all baseless and infact, Talwars and Duranis are like an extended family and shared good professional relations.

“Very, very shocking. Everything is false. Nothing is true. All these things are baseless,” the Durranis said, refuting reports that Anita and Dr Talwar were involved in an illicit relationship.

Dr Anita also denied the allegations that the Talwars and Durranis were involved into wife swapping.

“This is all wrong." A visibly distraught couple said they have not been questioned by the police even once since the murders came to light.

Abhijeet Chatterjee, Talwar’s lawyer, said, ”There was no evidence against him linking him to the crime.”

No case under section 302 (murder) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) could be made against him, the lawyer told the reporters.

Chatterjee also said the application was filed in the court as Dr Talwar is asthmatic and that he is bound to suffer in jail.

Dr Nupur, who is also a dentist, said that it’s impossible that her husband could have killed their only child, describing him as a doting father.

“It is not possible, just not possible. The killer is out there somewhere. We will have to fight it out in the court. The truth is there. The truth has to come out.”

Breaking her silence after a week of her daughter’s death, she said that they were a close knit family and on the night of the murder had dinner and watched television before going to bed.

Slamming the police’s allegations as baseless and untrue, Dr Nupur said, “I have been in the house. Is such a thing possible? Do you think...can any mother sleep throughout...I think it is beyond any body’s imagination. Utter nonsense, baseless nonsense. They (police) can say whatever they want. I know it is not true. God knows it is not true.”

Calling Hemraj, who the police claimed had developed a relationship with Arushi, a ’trusted servant’ she said that Hemraj was like a father-figure to Aarushi. .

“He was 45 years, turning grey, an elderly person, who had sons and grand child. I never had any problems with him."

Interesting thing is that a case which was once a high profile case, thanks to media, is no longer heard off. I hope the the criminals are booked asap. Also as as readers our memory is very short lived. This is definately not a good. Beyond all this God help the Talwar faimly get over this time of grief as life goes on. Regards...Vivek

Mr.Naheed and Mr.Muthu...i totally disagree with your meaningles statements...you dont know what is truth and just passing statements as you like...how can you say that it is worthless for aarushi's parents to live...?is that if any accident or any such thing happens in anyones family has to end their lives....it makes no sense....let the truth come out....

Mr. Muthu is so much right in his comments. The parents hardly had time for their daughter. They are responsible for what ever had happened coz of bad parenting and neglect. Why is she defending her husband, the truth will definatly be out someday. Is their life worth living after so much had happened to their daughter.
