Drew Brees bagged the Most Valuable Player award on Sunday after his team New Orleans Saints won against Indianapolis Colts at the Super Bowl game. They will be part of a Saints Parade that is due tomorrow in New Orleans.
SAINTS QUARTERBACK Drew Brees ensured that the Sunday Super Bowl victory for the New Orleans Saints was all the more sweeter, when he bagged the Most Valuable Player award. The quarterback's team was playing against the Indianapolis Colts at the Super Bowl XLIV game.
At the Super Bowl game, the New Orleans Saints had shown the might of the Saints offense and Drew Brees had delivered the drive that won the game. He had gone seven for seven for 44 yards and delivered a two yard strike to Jeremy Shockey. The quarterback had followed this by a two point conversion toss, this time to Lance Moore, getting the team a 24-17 lead.
He had also given 32 completions for 39, tying a Super Bowl record, apart from two touchdowns.
Talking about the 31-17 game performance, Drew Brees said,"We played for so much more than just ourselves. We played for our city, we played for the entire Gulf Coast region. We played for all the entire Who Dat nation who was behind us every step of the way. We've been blessed with so much and just to have this opportunity is unbelievable."
The capping moment after the win was when Drew Brees scooped his toddler son, Baylen Robert Brees, who had been at the game watching his Daddy win, wearing a pair of oversized earmuffs to block out the din.
His hometown New Orleans is already in a gala mood with Mardi Gras around the corner and a Saints Parade will take place here on Tuesday, February 9.
