DSF 2010: Top ten things to do
The Dubai Shopping Festival 2010 which begins tomorrow has a lot in store for shopaholics and revellers alike. This includes fireworks, carnivals, raffles, competitions, Gulf Bike week, music events, apart from the tons of shopping.

WITH THE Dubai Shopping Festival beginning tomorrow, the city has decked up to the nines to say the least. With something to offer for everyone, the city has prepared itself to be a memorable experience for the next 32 days.

Revellers and shopaholics however, are often at a loss of catching all that Dubai has in store for them, especially during DSF 2010. Many don't known that organisers have put together the best elements from the Dubai Shopping Festivals over the last fourteen years, into this mega event. This includes fireworks, carnivals, raffles, competitions, music events, apart from the tons of shopping.

The following are the top ten things to do during the Dubai Shopping Festival 2010:

1. Catch the Carnival

Popular equally with children and children at heart, carnivals can add all the zest required for even the most boring experiences. And here, at the DSF 2010, the parading performers - which would include over 150 jugglers, stilt walkers, uni-cyclists and precussionists, can sure spice up the stall hopping over the next 32 days.

The parade can be caught at the Walk, JBR, Al Seef Street and Al Rigga Road.

2. Explore the Global Village

The centrestage of the Dubai Shopping Festival, the Global Village is an altogether different realm, especially for shopaholics. On the Emirates roaf, the Global Village would be no less this year, what with 6000 cultural shows and performances, apart from rides and retails stops in 31 pavillions, it promises quite a large world in itself. Those who wish to soak it in, should get there as early as possible. Event starts at 4:00 PM daily.

3. Blood Brothers Musical

This musical, which comes to Dubai after being the third longest running show on London's West End, is a poignant tale about twins but reunited by fate, with tragic consequences. Starting from tomorrow, one can catch it at the First group Theatre, Souk Madinat till February 6. Its an essential requirement for both musical lovers and all those who love a good story.

4. Unlimited Music concerts

Those who love to rock with live music won;t be disappointed at the DSF 2010. A top billed music extravaganza waits for them, with performances by Nickelback (February 5), Status Quo (February 6), Arab heartthrob Tamer Hosny (January 28) and even Indian singer Sunidhi Chauhan (February 18). 5. Gulf Bike Week

Bikers and automobile ethusiasts can feast themselves on the Dubai Festival City's Gulf Bike Week, which will take place between February 4 to February 6. 6. Fireworks Display

The Al Zoorani group has a fiery display in mind for each day of the Dubai Shopping Festival 2010. The fireworks will start daily at around 8:30 PM and can be caught in their splendid glory best from dhow boats at Al Seef Street.

7. Go shop!

The main highlight of the DSF 2010, is the shopping experience that one can get here. Believers in retail therapy will be at the mecca of the largest shopping extravaganza, with more than 6,000 retail outlets and 40 shopping malls. 8. Jazz it up with Skywards Dubai International Jazz Festival

The Skywards Dubai International Jazz Festival will be another showstopper at the DSF 2010. Featuring David Gray, James Morrison and the Brand New Heavies, one can also catch the local and regional jazz artists at Dubai Media City from February 10 to February 19.

There is also the World of Jazz, a prelude to the main Jazz festival, which will set the mood at The Walk from February 3 to February 9.
