Dunkin Donuts launches third restaurant in India within a month
After getting an overwhelming response to its first two restaurants in CP and GK, Dunkin Donuts officially launched its third restaurant in India at DLF Place Mall in Saket.

DUNKIN DONUTS are planning to open a total of 10 restaurants in Delhi and the NCR region during the current fiscal. Two stores have already been launched earlier during the month. Today, on 30thof May, they opened their third restaurant at DLF Place Mall in Saket.

During the opening ceremony, the ribbon was cut in the presence of Mr. Nigel Travis, CEO, Dunkin brand, who was singing praises for the Jubilant FoodWorks Limited, who have partnered with Dunkin Donuts for developing its brand, especially in India.

Mr Travis said, “It is a journey towards the opening of around 500 stores in India”. They are scheduled to achieve this feat in the coming 15 years or so, which is their long term plan. As for the first year they have decided to only concentrate in Delhi NCR region, after which they are going to move towards other metros such as Mumbai, Bangalore etc. Mr Ajay Kaul, CEO Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd said, “In the first one-and-half-years we are going to keep our fundamental base going and then we would explode”.

Dunkin Donuts have come into the Indian market, as they want to occupy the sweet spot between various cafes in India and restaurants offering quick services, which are in plenty numbers. But, they want to stand tall among all these. Judging by the pricing and the menu with its quality, it would give other restaurants a run for their money.

They have done a decent research, so they have come up with a menu, which other cafes or restaurants have not been able to come up with. Though, they are famous for Donuts all over the world, various kinds of beverages, and food has been brought about to cater to the Indian customers. They have tried to localise the food by offering Indian chutney, but the breads used are all western. So Kaul said, “Such kind of fusion goes with the Indian taste”.

Their first two stores, which are located in Connaught Place and Greater Kailash, received an overwhelming response, so there is a sense of expectation from this store at Saket too. Dev Amritesh, President and COO - Dunkin Donuts India, Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd said, “The response has been very positive in the two restaurants, which opened recently. In fact, it was much better than what we expected”. They have understood more about what Indians like in such a short span that they have brought one or two minor changes in the menu from their first official restaurant in CP.

Mr Negil also stated, “Dunkin Donuts are famous for beverages. 60% of the revenues come from beverages”. But, it could be a bit different scenario in India, as people love their food more and Dunkin Donuts have plenty of choices for food in their menu. Apart from famous beverages and donuts, their food list includes Chicken Jalapeno, Polo Mexicana, Egg Chicken Ham Bagel etc, which is very delicious.
