The cancelled Metallica concert in Gurgaon has indeed left thousands of fans dejected who came from numerous cities and also from abroad. One fan from Netherlands, a veteran of 114 Metallica concerts, was very disappointed after what happened at the venue.
AN ARDENT Metallica fan from Netherlands, whom this CJ came across at the venue of the concert, said that so far he had attended 114 Metallica concerts across the globe and this is the worst that he had seen. Will he travel to Bangalore to be at their next gig is a question that is tough for us to answer. However, for Metallica it’s time now to turn the page and move to Bangalore where they will be performing on Sunday night.

But Metallica's Gurgaon act was a dampener. But the heavy octane American metal band cannot be questioned as they have from the very beginning maintained that in their concerts it is the safety of the spectators that matters to them much more than anything else.
Metallica is not the only band that had to suffer the brunt of incapability of Gurgaon to hold a large-scale concert. Earlier this year, Bryan Adams too had to leave dejected after the concert in Gurgaon, incidentally at the same venue, when the concert did not take place.
What happened in Gurgaon is unforgivable - as the managers of the event organising company DNA bear the brunt of the blame. The police have already charged the managers on fraudulent grounds and have served notices to the management of the company. Citing ‘technical reasons’ to call off the concert, it was apparent that the company was incapable of handling a 30,000 plus strong crowd. The Gurgaon brigade saw numerous foreigners flocking to the venue, and just like their Indian counterparts; they were seen intoxicating themselves with Metallica songs and other commodities.
