According to a recent research, consumption of broccoli everyday can reduce the risk of breast cancer among women. The study says that this vegetable contains Sulforaphane, which mimics the acts of cancer drugs like Taxol and Vincristine
A NEW study has revealed that adding a dash of broccoli to your daily diet can reduce the chances of breast cancer among women. It is a Mediterranean vegetable, know for its anti-cancer properties and now the research has established its ability to heal the cells.
It is a known fact that broccoli and plants of it’s species, like cabbage and cauliflower have anti-cancer properties has now been reaffirmed. Researchers at California University said that a compound called Sulforaphane (SFN) found in broccoli and similar plants mimics the acts of cancer drugs like Taxol and Vincristine.
The vegetables contain isothiocyanates, compounds responsible for ant-cancer activities and responsible for prevention of cancer. Researchers said that SFN inhibits the spread of cancer causing cells and that too without any toxic effects.
Fresh and deep coloured broccoli has the highest nutritional value and that should be included in the diet to cut breast cancer risks. Breast cancer is responsible for more than 500, 000 death worldwide every year.
