United States Food and Drug Administration revealed that while 12 people have been admitted in hospitals, where there are some more cases that have been linked to E coli outbreak.
LETTUCE SOLD by a food company in United States is being recalled from 23 states after it appeared that food has been responsible for an E.coli outbreak that has left at least 19 people serious, three of whom are in serious condition.
United States Food and Drug Administration revealed that while 12 people have been admitted in hospitals, where there are some more cases that have been linked to E.coli outbreak. An Ohio based company identified as Freshway Foods has said that it is recalling romaine lettuce sold under the brand name of Freshway and Imperial Sysco as it being linked to the E.coli outbreak. Some students of University of Michigan in Ann Arbor as well as Daemen College in Amherst were affected by the outbreak.
Investigators are suspecting that Lattuce grown in Arizona could be a possible source of outbreak of E.coli. A New York based laboratory had found the E coli contamination in shredded Romaine Lettuce sold by Freshway Food. E.coli infection can cause mild diarrhea, which can lead to severe complications including kidney damage.
