'Economy works as a base in the social life of a human being'
A seminar on the topic- Contemporary views of Vivekananda relating to economy- to mark Swami Vivekananda's 150th birthday was organized at local RSD College in Ferozepur district of Punjab. The idea in organising the seminar was to have serious discussions on economic views of Swami Vivekananda apart from spiritual.

In the first inaugural session, BB Sanwlka, Secretary, RSD College Managing Committee, Pt. Satish Kumar, Member and SP Anand, Director specially participated in the seminar. Dr. Vishav Bandhu Sudhir, Principal inaugurated the seminar followed by Dr. R.K. Mahajan, HoD Economic Department, Punjabi University Regional Centre, Bhatinda with his key note address, highlighted the economic views of Vivekananda.

He said,  "Economy works as a base,in the social life of a human being". In the same session, Chander Shekhar Talwar, Retd. IAS in his address, had a serious discussions on the simple life and high thoughts of Swami Ji.

In the second session of seminar, Dr.Vinay Sofar and Dr.Sanjeev Dawar had a meaningful talk on Swami's view relating to economy in human's life. In the seminar, Dr.Ranju Sharma, Arya College Ludhiana, Dr.Ambuj Dev Samaj College, Ferozepur and others also presented their research papers.

On this occasion Professors namely Ashok Jindar, Gurtej Singh Jaspal Ghai, Ashok Gupta, Anil Dhiman, A.K. Sethi, Jaspal Singh, H.S.Rabdhawa, Kuldip, Abhishek Arora, Veena Jinda, Sanjna Aggarwal,  Dr.Manjit Kaur, Dr. Sanjiv, Prof. Nidhi Aggarwal, Prof. Meenu Sadar participated in the seminar.  Prof. Azadinder Singh performed the master of ceremony nicely.
