People started celebrating his birthday after some college kids decided to have a party in the honor of depressed donkey as a way to celebrate spring. Donkey creates noise sounds like “hee-haw”, this is what from where Eeyore's name came from, "hee haw"  refers to the braying sound made by a normal donkey. Also in the series he has a long tail with a pink bow on the end, which he likes a lot and also scared of losing it.

This all started when college students threw a party dedicated to the Winne the Pooh character. The first event at Pease Park included a trashcan full of lemonade, honey sandwiches, and a live donkey.
