Eight-day Saharanpur Book Fair-2016 concludes
Started from October 16, Saharanpur Book Fair-2016, concludes today which was received well by the city residents since it was made eventful by including the participation of NGOs and organising a range of art, craft and cultural events every day during the festival.
Book releases and student competitions also added enthusiasm for the book fair. As the fair kicked off, Ankit Chadha's dastangoi - a 16th-century Urdu oral storytelling art form – was appreciated by the audience. His second book "Amir Khusrau - The Man in Riddles" was also released.

On different days, various cultural events such as comedy shows, story-telling, band performances, puppet shows, folk singing, recitals, devotional singing of Kabir's Bhajans were organised.

The performance titled Anokhe Vastra by Ishara Puppet Theatre Trust turned out much liked event since it was a hilarious retelling of the classic children's tale related to emperor's new clothes. The performance was designed and directed by Padamshree Dadi D Pudumjee - country's leading puppeteer and the founder of The Ishara Puppet Theatre Trust.

Another event that was appreciated was the play staged by Aagaaz Theatre Trust, which is  an arts based organization, engaging children and young adults in performing arts activities.
