Ek Deewana Tha: A trashy movie
Today, Ek Deewana Tha, the Hindi remake of the Tamil blockbuster movie Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa, written and directed by Gautham Menon, has been released. It's a story of a guy who is in love with a confused girl, who with her acting skills and dialogue confuses the audience as well.

ME AND my friend Raj were all set to bunk our evening office hours to catch the 6.45 at AGS Cinemas in Chennai. We started at 6 pm and had a wonderful ride on scooty pep+ filled with heavy traffic jams and dust. Finally, we somehow managed to reach the theater and entered the screen 3 multiplex where the movie was running.

Cursing each other (for the delay), we entered in excitement. We found Sachin (lead role - Prateik Babbar) in conversation with Jessi (Lead Role - Amy Jackson ). Sachin was all flattered at the very look of her, as they say love at first sight. Finally, we settled down by 7 to listen and see their story.

It's a story of a guy (Prateik Babbar) who works as an assistant director and falls in love with a Christian who hails from Kerala named Jessi. Jessi is a typical girl who loves her family and walks on their set path. One day, Sachin expresses his feelings for her. The usual story of the girl unable to handle the situation and going back to the home town comes in. Our hero is all set to search the girl in all the churches in Kerala and finally he finds her. Prateik is mad about Jessi and expresses himself again but Jessi knows the reality about her family, the fact that they would never agree due to religion differences and the fact that he in a profession that Jessi's father never liked and does not consider as work. Surprisingly, Jessi is the kind of girl who has seen only 5 movies in her life time.

Jessi then asks for some time to let her realise whether she is in love him. And thats where the "LETS BE FRIENDS?" dialogue pops in. Days pass by, and things get worse when Sachin who is a boxing champion trashes Jessis's brother. The family moves to Kerala to get Jessi married. During the marriage Jessi rejects the proposal and in the same church finds Prateik who was again following her. Things moves on and she realises that she is in love. They then commit themselves to one another.

The movie is very slow and gets on one's nerves at times, We overheard people cracking jokes on the film's dialogues and waitng for the movie to get over. Jessi is a completely confused girl. At times, you will feel like slapping her for her acting and dialogues, which are pathetic. The movie was a blockbuster in Tamil but in Hindi it doesn't even deserve 2 stars.

Whether Jessi and Sachin get married? Will Jessi and Sachin's love fail or succeed? Will she able to convince her parents? Will Jessi marry some other guy? What happened to Prateik? Does he find love in some other new face? The anwsers to these question complete the story. If you are planning to watch this movie on your happy weekend then please scan the other movies and then keep it as your worst and the last option. The movie is not worth watching even once - no paisa vasool.

Positives:
Hossana and Sunlo Zara are the two songs that will like - the rest of the songs arn't that good.

Negatives:
No acting by either Prateik /Amy
Amy looks ugly. A bad look is given to her. Menon sir, please get a good make up artist next time.
Story does not hold the audience rather it irritates them wth the character of Jessi.
Dialogues are the worst part of this movie.

All, please sit back at home and watch something on T.V - it would entertain you better than "E.D.T"
