THE ROMANTIC drama Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu is the perfect gift to a loved one as the film is entertaining, funny and has a smart script. Although all romantic comedies are quite predictable yet stories that stand out are the ones that make a film memorable. Will Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu be remembered is difficult to say but for now it is a film full of entertainment.
Inspite of being the perfect boy, he gets sacked from his job and becomes especially rebellious on one night. The same night he meets Riana Braganza, Kareena’s character, who is carefree, has a ‘give a damn attitude’ and is practically everything that Rahul is not. She has been dumped by a boyfriend and in order to get over her heartbreak wants to drink the whole night long. As everyone is guessing they somehow end up together, get drunk, married and fall in love with a minor heart ache to be followed by their happily ever after.
The film, however, is more than a girl meet boy story. Kareena is in her element and while many would make a comparison with her Geet, as Riana, she is a smart adult with just a streak of rebel in her. She knows the way of life and can never be fooled like Geet as she is not vulnerable and yet makes all the mistakes adults make (think that love is a four lettered word, yet fall in it).
Imran’s body language, which is more often stiff with one expression, has actually helped him in this film. What appears to be his usual discomfort outside the studio has added to the character, who is facing life outside a routine with a girl, who according to him is outrageous. His good boy look and mannerisms has taken the character to a new level and the film is basically his journey and his evolution from a shy to a carefree man.
Shakun Batra has made Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu a delight to watch. With good Vegas-like scenes as well as Mumbai looking at its best, the ambience of the film is hip, chic and very young. Thus, a perfect way to celebrate February 14 is to watch this film, which is made for complete entertainment.
