Election promises haunting Andhra CM Chandrababu Naidu
Election promises of Chandrababu Naidu are haunting him like anything. They have become hurdles in the way of State's development. After settling down the issue of farm loan waiver as well as the issue of Self Help Groups, now he is under pressure from Kapu community, which is demanding reservation. It has now become headache for him that he made a promise and included in his election manifesto that Kapu community would be included in the list of backward classes.
Mudragada Padmanabham's fast to free the culprits in Ratnachal express train fire case is very shameful. It seems political leaders' lack ethics. Even governments are also playing a spectator's role for the sake of political selfishness. Shamefully, all opposition parties except communists support Mudragada Padmanabham and criticizing the attitude of Chandrababu Naidu's government.

Anybody can raise demands with government in peaceful manner. In our country in the recent times some economically strong communities are agitating demanding reservation. We can take examples of Patels in Gujarat, Jats in Haryana and Kapus in Andhra Pradesh.

These communities are agitating because they are strong enough to control the governments of particular states. They are politically aware and economically strong. Hence they are getting leaders and money as they are rich enough. When a community is politically strong they want to utilize all opportunities available in front of them.

The Ratnachal train fire accident is a horrible one. Really it needs immediate action irrespective of caste reservation politics. Mudragada is striving and agitating for the inclusion of his cast in backward classes. The protesting people can demonstrate in streets, but who are they to set an entire train, the nearby police station and police vehicles on fire. What is the connection between an agitation and setting the public properties on fire.

Actually immediate arrest of the culprits was needed but it did not take place. I don't know why the Railway police are investigating the matter at a snail's speed. CID of the state may do its job as the case has been handed over to them by the State police. It was a clear cut incident that rowdy elements had fired a train, worth crore of rupees.

Fortunately there was no loss of human lives. The State and central governments are very lazy and seeing it with a political angle. After some arrests were made in the case the leader of Kapu community Mr. Mudragada surprisingly came out with a demand those arrested by the police should be released and cases against them should be withdrawn.

After some drama enacted by Mr. Mudragada the police were successful in arresting him and puting him in Rajamundry's government hospital. What sanctity the fast by Mudragada is having? Is he starving for a right cause of Kapus? Why do you fear about your followers? Do you feel they are anti-social elements? Who will give the certificate that arrested are not indulged in incident? These are all to be proved in court.

All opposition party leaders including Jaganmohan Reddy wanted that the Tuni train fire accident case should be handed over to CBI. Chandrababu Naidu has accepted it and but Mudragada said no to it.

Mudragada Padmanabham who lost the elections in 2014 is trying to reach his own Kapu community posing that he is the only the leader of the community and he can can only sacrifice for them. In fact he was minister in NTR's Cabinet and later Member of the Parliament but he never thought of the welfare of his community.

The truth is that Kapu community's economical stability in both the Godavari districts of Andhra Pradesh is above average and politically powerful irrespective of the ruling government.

Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy after winning the election on his own in 2009 wooed Chiranjeevi to merge with the Congress party. However, it didn't happen that time but after his death during the Kiran Kumar Reddy's time. Later Chiranjeevi became a minister at the Centre.

No Kapu community leader in any government has moved forward to bring their community into Backward Class list but all are throwing mud on Chandrababu Naidu. The truth is that Chandrababu Naidu has started the process to bring them into Backward Class category. He constituted a commission with Justice Manjunath as its head and it is working on that. He also set a corporation for the Kapu community and allotted Rs.1000 crores to help economically weak Kapu people.

The report of Justice Manjunath is awaited, which will be out in a couple of months. Chandrababu Naidu's commitment for this particular issue is totally wrong. There are many castes that are really backward than Kapu community. Kapu community is politically strong and in every government there used to be three or four Kapu ministers. But what about other poor backward castes?
