Eleven-day "Chennai Storytelling Festival-2019" begins in Chennai
Eleven-day long "Chennai Storytelling Festival-2019" begins from today and will conclude on 10th February with the theme "Storytelling for Creativity, Teaching, Training, and Healing".

"This is the 7th annual edition of this Festival. There are 22 events in Chennai Storytelling Festival 2019, including 5 events that could be attended by video conference," it is informed by the Chennai-based World Storytelling Institute adding that the events are going to be held at different venues in the city.

The main event on the opening day is going to be held with Storytelling Performance "Stories about Weaving in Scotland and India" by Marion Kenny (of Edinburgh, Scotland) and Deepa Kiran (of Hyderabad) at the local British Council premises at Anna Salai with free admission.

Other importance events, besides the usual performances, workshops and presentations are "Storytelling and Theatre" by Diana Tso (of Toronto Canada); "Stories about Stories and Storytelling" by Ruth Stotter (of California, USA); "Chinese-Canadian Monkey Queen meets Indian Monkey King" by Diana Tso and Rubena Sinha (of Toronto, Canada); "Storytelling as a Teaching and Educational Tool" by Marion Kenny (of Edinburgh, Scotland); "Moving Stories: Storytelling and Movement" by Ms Rubena Sinha (of Toronto, Canada), and "Stories about Female Characters in Folktales and Epics of Scotland and Ireland" by Marion Kenny (of Edinburgh, Scotland).
