Eliminate contemporary racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance: United Nations
The International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination is observed annually on 21 March since 1966 to accelerate efforts to eliminate all forms of racial discrimination.

This year, the observance has the theme "Racial profiling and incitement to hatred, including in the context of migration" for organising relevant and pertinent events.

According to the United Nations (UN), every person is entitled to human rights without discrimination. The rights to equality and non-discrimination are cornerstones of human rights law.

Despite the human rights provision, in many parts of the world, discriminatory practices are still widespread, including racial, ethnic, religious and nationality based profiling; and incitement to hatred, stated the UN.

The UN informed that according to a recent report to the Human Rights Council by the Special Rapporteur on contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance.
