Elite encroachers!
No action is being taken against the unauthorized occupants of government accommodations as on 18.02.2010
THERE ARE different yard-sticks even in tackling law-breaking unauthorized (VVIP) occupants of government-accommodations. The latest list dated 18.02.2010 for such VVIPs, reveal that government has failed to take concrete steps to get government-accommodations vacated by 22 encroachers even after 10 months of Lok Sabha elections and several RTI petitions, while the extreme step of forceful eviction was taken in case of Ramdas Athawale.
The Union government should explain why similar forceful eviction is not being carried out in the case of remaining 22 VVIP encroachers.
Another notable RTI revelation is that despite the government facing shortage of government-bungalows, one at 6 Krishna Menon Marg vacated by Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar is yet to be allotted. The Government should give reasons for keeping this particular bungalow un-allotted.
