Ellie Potvin no more, dies of cancer at 8

Her funeral will take place at Calvary Church North Carolina on June 26 th at 11 am. The wake will also happen at the same place on June 25 th at 6 pm.

ELLIS POTVIN, a eight year old kid died of rare form of stage 4 Rhabdomyosarcoma cancer in the trunk of her body and lungs. She passed away on June 23rd, 2010. The news was confirmed on Ellie Potvin’s twitter account and her blog CaringBridge Lift Up Ellie.

Ellie was diagnosed with this rare form of cancer in 2008. Though she underwent various rounds of Chemo but the tumor returned. Her family and friends have been praying for her wellness, but she sadly passed away on Wednesday afternoon.

On Wednesday morning, when she was battling between life and death her blog read- Ellie is still breathing…She is so slowly leaving us. This is breaking me to shreds, I have been ripped apart, this has tested my faith slowly, to watch your child die before your eyes- is too much for a mother- just too much. God I pray…Please let her fly.

Ellie passed around five hours after this post on her blog. Her funeral will take place at Calvary Church North Carolina on June 26th at 11 am. The wake will also happen at the same place on June 25th at 6 pm.

Hours after her death there was another post on her blog that read- Thankfully our church is ample in seating! I have no idea how to make this happen in our ‘Ellie’ fashion. But we do our best with music, photos, video, flowers, ceremony…To celebrate her life! Please wear pink to funeral or pastels ;) Ellie’s favorite colors!

WOW. This is a POORLY written, VERY distasteful, INSENSITIVE article, my goodness. Do your writers have no heart? Did you stop and think what would happen if that SWEET, strong, and amazing little girls MOTHER came across this article? (And she DID) Put yourself in HER shoes and read this from HER perspective. Ellie lives ON in the hearts of so many people. Ellie touched so many lives with her journey. She wasn't just "some kid" She is someone special! You need to make sure your writers have more heart and learn to see things from all perspectives before they slap up an article.
