Employees of NE Bangla accuse former minister of duping them
Matang Singh, an ex union minister for prime minister's office, started his satellite television channel NE BANGLA from Agartala, in sensitive north east India, on Agust 7, 2007, at a gala festive mood.
THE STAFF of NE Bangla(satellite TV news channel) have demanded a CBI inquiry into the matter relating to sudden fleeing of the channel from Tripura, like cheat funds. They want the chief minister of Tripura Manik Sarkar and prime minister of India Manmohan Singh to intervene in the whole matter.

The staff members stated that former union minister of state in Prime Minister’s Office(PMO), Matang Singh started NE Bangla on 7th August 2007 at Agartala propagating that it will focus the land and life of the people of north east India, particularly Tripura. He declared at the gala inaugural program organized at Agartala Town Hall, which was glorified by the governor and cm of the state and many other dignitaries, his longstanding plan for the people of Tripura through the channel.

But, what happened to him and his company all of a sudden, that he took away all the tools and equipment secretly and illegally without giving any information to the people of the state, leaving the full fledged office mere an empty store? Why Matang Singh did not even felt the need to talk to his employees numbering not less than 50? Is it not the clear violation of all the applicable laws of the land? Has he not denied the basic fundamental as well as constitutional rights of the employees? If yes, is it permissible and acceptable only because  Sinh is a former central minister? Are the people of North East the second class citizens of this country? The State has to answer because it’s democracy.

The workless staffs of NE Bangla have decided to take the matter to all the institutions of the country seeking justice. If necessary, they will move the court of law too. Already they have formed an organization SAVE NORTH EAST with Sanjib Das as President, Pratap Banik as Vice President, Prasenjit Chakraborty as Secretary, Panna Ghosh as Asstt. Secretary and Janardhan Sarkar as Treasurer.

At a press conference, held at Agartala Press Club on July 10, 2010 at 12 P.M., they solicited the help of all type from the people of all sections of life and from all corners of the country.

Their number one demand is the immediate reinstatement of channel office at Agartala as it was on 7th August 2007. Or, get ready for facing the legal and logical consequences.
